The ODC School Audition Series brings dancers and choreographers together in a class context. Dancers may use class cards or pay a $14 drop in fee ($1 cash discount). Come early to fill out information forms and bring a resume if you have one.
Nicole Klaymoon’s Embodiment Project (EP) seeks new dancers who have professional dance experience and are versed in multiple street dance styles (Hip-hop, House, Waacking, Popping, Bboying/Bgirling, Locking), dance forms of the African Diaspora, and Modern Dance. EP values dancers who are passionate about developing their voice as freestyle dancers and have a love for Hip-Hop culture. One significant criteria is the willingness of the dancer to push their conceptual approaches to both urban and concert dance. Candidates ideally have additional experience in theater, spoken word, and/or singing. Most of all, EP seeks dancers who embody heart, integrity, and honest communication within collaborative creative experiences.
Company members must be available to rehearse two or three evenings per week. Dancers will need to be able to participate in the Walking Distance Dance Festival-SF on May 27-June 2, 2013, as well as the premiere of EP’s 2013 home season show on Dec. 9-15, 2013, which will both be at the ODC Theater. Additionally, dancers need to be available to tour in mid July. Dancers are paid per performance.
