Embodiment Project (EP) is an hip hop dance theater company based in the San Francisco Bay Area whose mission is to challenge systemic inequity by exploring themes of trauma, healing, womanist histories, race, and gender role dissolution. We use street dance, live song, documentary theater, and spoken word to create emotionally transparent and autobiographical narratives that serve as a call to action.
“This is an intense performance, a bit like taking a defibrillator jolt to the soul… “Seed Language” also is exquisitely subtle in its way. Klaymoon has woven opposing perspectives together and left the threads tangled — as in art, so in life.” – SF Chronicle
“Art and life collide in Nicole Klaymoon’s works of dance and documentary theater… With a wit that is sometimes poignant, sometimes lacerating, Klaymoon avoids polemic in pursuit of ambiguous, messy truths.” – KQED
“Nicole Klaymoon’s Sixth Vowel was THE BEST small theatrical production I have seen in this city in a decade.” – Miami New Times
“The performers are charismatic, the hip-hop dance commanding, the truths delivered unflinching. In case I haven’t been emphatic enough: Call up your local presenter. You need to see this.” – Fjord Review
