Rebearth is a weekly, donation-based open house dance session held every Monday at Dance Mission Theater.

Rooted in the liberatory spirit of house dance, Rebearth brings together intergenerational dancers and community members to honor the form’s African diasporic and LGBTQIA+ cultural roots.

This joyful gathering is part movement cypher, part healing ritual—a space for sweat, release, and collective resilience.Through weekly classes, workshops, and performances rooted in the principles of Kingian Nonviolence and Transcommunality, this program builds community between incarcerated participants, professional teaching artists, and trauma healing facilitators creating space for radical transformation, shared humanity, and collective liberation.
