Residencies

We believe that relationships are the lifeblood of culture and the foundation upon which our work can thrive.

We are always excited to participate in residencies and retreats that expand our perspectives on movement, embodiment, and culturally rooted performance practices. These immersive experiences deepen our collective inquiry and continue to inform our evolving creative journey.

In December 2025, Embodiment Projects gathered at The Finnish Hall in Berkeley for a five-day intensive residency with Shinichi Iova-Koga. The week focused on rigorous training in Butoh: Temporal Transformations and Action Theater & Improvisation, with Shinichi leading daily workshops in both forms. The residency offered EP members and participating artists a concentrated space for experimentation, transformation, and embodied research.
