Home Bass is a community-driven creative space in Oakland where artists, dancers, musicians, and organizers gather to share, practice, and build culture together. Rooted in the joy and liberating power of house music and social dance, the space provides a home for workshops, rehearsals, performances, and community gatherings.
Founded in 2024 by Aya Eid, Byron Wong, and Gunny Jy Liu, Home Bass began as an experiment in community-building: creating a welcoming space where people could connect more deeply than traditional venues often allow. What started with an empty loft and a DIY dance floor has grown into a vibrant hub for collaboration, learning, and artistic exchange across the Bay Area.
Our Mission
Home Bass is a co-created community space dedicated to nurturing creative expression and cultural exchange. Through mutual aid and collective care, we provide an accessible environment where artists and community members can collaborate across disciplines while honoring the traditions of house music and social dance that bring us together.
