Be Movement Collective (BeMC) is an inclusive, multiracial, intergenerational dance community dedicated to authentic expression, connection, and social change through movement. Our movement style is rooted in Black social dance, blending street styles, ethnic, contemporary, and freestyle dance forms.

Founded by Lauren Benjamin to integrate artistry, education, and leadership, BeMC provides a safe and affirming space where members can connect, reflect, grow, and move together in a collective journey of transformation. At its core, BeMC exists for members to BE—to answer the call to dance, to lead by example, and to embody what it means to move freely and live authentically in community. Through dance, we communicate, translate, and create—movement is our language, our shared practice, and our path forward. We hope that by living out our love for dance, we will infectiously inspire others to do the same—and together, move our way toward greater expressions of joy, freedom, and love in the world.
